Tactics — Sweepmark

Sweepmark rewards planning over reflexes. Because every shot is decided by geometry — line of sight, facing and range — a clean run is a puzzle you can solve. Here is how to clear the compound in fewer rounds and earn the S-rank.

Read the facing cones before you move

Every hostile holds a fixed firing arc, drawn on the board as a translucent cone. If you are not inside a cone, that hostile cannot fire on you this round. The single most important habit is to plan your move so it ends outside every cone. Approach hostiles from the side or behind their arc, and you can neutralize them before they ever get a shot — the path to a zero-damage clear.

Use cover and doors to break line of sight

Walls, cover blocks and closed doors all block sight. A hostile can only fire on you when it has an unobstructed line, so a single cover tile between you and a threat is often enough to cross the room safely. Doors are walkable but block sight until something passes through, so they double as temporary cover. Plan routes that keep a wall or cover tile between you and the arcs you have not cleared yet.

Aim where the hostile will be, not where it is

Both sides move during the same replay, so a hostile that has spotted you will advance and turn to face your last-seen position. When you take a shot, aim at the tile you expect it to occupy when your line clears — a step ahead of its current position. The aim line turns green when the shot will connect and turns red when the line is blocked, so you always know whether a shot is honest before you commit.

Spend rounds like currency

Rounds are your primary score. It is tempting to move one careful tile at a time, but par assumes decisive play. Where a lane is clear, cover as much ground as your move budget allows and take the shot the same round. Holding fire is a valid, sometimes optimal plan — reposition this round, neutralize next — but every wasted round costs you rank.

Chasing the S-rank

The S-rank is locked to three conditions at once: clear in par rounds or fewer, land every shot you take, and finish with zero damage. That means no speculative shots (a miss wrecks your accuracy) and no exposure (one hit ends the perfect run). Learn a compound variation, find the order that neutralizes each hostile from safety, then run it clean. Share the seed and challenge a friend to beat your line on the identical compound.
